The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola says every loss recorded in the power sector will be tracked and accountedfor.
The minister spoke at the 14th Power Sector Operators’ Meeting held in Osogbo, the Osun state capital.
The meeting hosted by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), provided opportunities for operators in the power sector in Nigeria to discuss matters bothering on power generation, transmission and distribution among others.
Fashola who chaired the meeting stressed that the bulk of work in the power sector now rests with the private business owners and warned them against flaunting the laws guiding the power sector.
The interim Managing Director of the Transmission Company of Nigeria, Usman Mohammed said the TCN is mindful of its shortcomings, and is working towards decentralizing its operations.
At the end of the meeting, incidents of insider malpractice and its negative impact on the customers among other things were acknowledged,and the need for vigilance to eliminate such cases was agreed upon.
