A Bayelsa based Journalist, Famous Gio-baro, has been assassinated in his home by some unidentified gunmen on Sunday.
Gio-baro, an employee of the Bayelsa State-owned radio station, Glory FM 97.1, was killed after the gunmen broke into his apartment and shot him many times in the stomach.
They left without stealing anything.
Meanwhile, the state chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists condemned the incident describing it as sacrilegious.

The NUJ Chairman, John Angese said the killing of Gio-baro was a big blow to the journalism family in the state.
The matter is being investigated by the Bayelsa police command.
