The Federal Government says it is conscious of the need to fully integrate women as active agents in the Nigerian economy by expanding their access to economic processes and opportunities.
The Minister of Women Affairs, Aisha Alhassan stated this at the first Ooni annual women empowerment workshop in Ile Ife, Osun state.
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi and his wife, Wuraola said women are essential in any society, hence the reason a memorandum of understanding was recently signed on their behalf in the area of Agriculture to empower them.
Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola stressed the need to harness women’s potential for rapid development of the society.
The empowerment workshop is expected to prepare the participants to achieve their potential.
