The Senate has urged the Ministry of Health to partner with the
World Health Organization and UNICEF, to acquire sufficient vaccines needed to respond to the outbreak of meningitis.
The Senate observed that there is need for the Health ministry and other relevant agencies to carry out nationwide immunization of children and adults who are susceptible to the disease.

They advised that the Nigerian Prisons Service, Police and National Emergency Management Agency,NEMA, be proactive and prevent an outbreak of the disease in their premises as well as in Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps.
