Coach of premier league side Elkanemi Warriors Ladan Bosso, has told coaches in the country to stop signing watery contracts on one hand and settling for gentleman’s agreement on the other.
He noted that desperation has forced many coaches in the country to cheapen the coaching profession by accepting jobs without defined agreement only to lament about poor treatment and non payment of salaries among other lamentations songs.
Where there is no agreement from the outset, he said it becomes difficult to hold a club responsible a blissful romance hits the rock.
“We cannot continue they way we are going. If you must work for any club insist on having a contract. A written contract which specifies how much you will be paid, mode of payment, how long you will stay on the job conditions under which the contract can be terminated and so on. When you have such agreement signed by both parties it becomes binding and you can pursue a case if need be.
