Ekiti State House of Assembly has passed a motion asking governor Ayo Fayose to probe the administration of his predecessor in office.
At Thursday’s plenary in Ado Ekiti, the House resolved that as a matter of urgency, a judicial panel of inquiry should be constituted to look into the financial transactions of the administration of Governor Kayode Fayemi.
Chairman House Committee on Information, Samuel Omotoso told newsmen that the lawmakers action was constitutional following Fayemi’s refusal to honour invitations sent to the former Governor who is now the Minister of Solid Minerals Development to appear before it.
Reacting to the development, the Minister’s Special Assistant on Media,Yinka Oyebode in a statement, says the action of thelawmakers is not only ill-advised but reckless, considering the fact that two different law suits surrounding the purported probe are still pending in court.
