At least four people were killed and dozens injured, while high winds ripped through the East Texas Tornadoes.
Falling trees and floods also killed five others in neighboring states.
The winds flipped over cars, snapped trees, destroyed houses and left roads littered with debris and fallen power lines.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott said he has deployed a search and rescue team to the area.
Canton fire department captain mayor, has also urged people to stay away from a sprawling flea market known as First Monday Trade Days, as crews tried to clean-up debris.
