Speaking at an event organized by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the theme: Nigerian Economy in a recession: alternative strategies for the petroleum downstream sector, the minister who was represented by the Chief Operating Officer, downstream, NNPC, Henry Iken Obih says investment in Modular refineries was intended to enhance the country’s refining capacity and create jobs.
Other speakers at the event added that the evolving diversification of the Economy to reduce the over-dependence on oil has not diminish the importance of the sector.
