The UN mission in the Central African Republic says the situation in Bangassou is gradually returning to normal.
The city witnessed a series of heavy attacks last week, on civilians and peacekeepers.
Violence flared in the southeastern city on Saturday, after an attack was launched by a gunman, affiliated with the anti-Balaka movement, forcing thousands to flee their homes.
Humanitarians on the ground, say 25,000 people out of the 35,000 inhabitants of Bangassou, will need humanitarian assistance.
