Sokoto State Government and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) have signed a joint work plan for 2017 worth 2.8 billion naira to cover Health, Nutrition, education, water, sanitation and hygiene sector.
The Work plan is aim at accelerating the realization of the rights of all children and women to survival, development, protection and participation.
Speaking during the signing of the work plan, Governor Aminu Tambuwal says his administration prioritise education because of the importance of the sector towards achieving total development goal of any society.
On his part, UNICEF Country-Director, Mohamed Malick Fall commended Tambuwal’s visionary leadership and promised to support the administration to achieve its lofty goals.
