Tiger Woods was taken into custody this morning on suspicion for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs in Jupiter, Florida. The legendary golfer was however released from custody on his own recognizance at 10:50 am.
Woods had been hopeful of playing in this year’s Masters tournament, on the 20th anniversary of his first win at Augusta in 1997, but lasted only five minutes in a practice session designed to prove he was fit to take part.
There have been previous reports of Woods’ drunken driving problems as well. The ace golfer, in 2009 had crashed his car into a tree, while reportedly driving under influence. However, he was not charged with a DUI back then.
