The Iranian parliament and the shrine of Ayatollah Khomeini in the capital,Tehran have come under attack as armed men opened fire at both buildings.
Local media report that a gunman fired shots inside parliament, killing a guard while two of the assailants shot at visitors, and killed six other persons in the process.
At about the same time, four men launched an assault on the shrine of Ayatollah Khomeini, at least one of them a suicide bomber.
At least seven persons are dead from both attacks, but the number of injured is unknown.

Security operatives believe the attacks were co-ordinated.
