Employees of Berger Paints have continued to occupy the entrance of the company in order to press home their demands .
Joke Lijadu reports the striking Staff members chanted solidarity songs, carrying placards to register their displeasure over an alleged failure of the management to keep an agreement reached on the exit date for their gratuity payment.
The workers have occupied the entrance of the company for a week now, disrupting all production activities.
When TVC NEWS visited the company’s Head Office in Oba Akran, Ikeja, the premises was under lock and key with security operatives manning the gate.
The workers are unhappy the company stopped their gratuity without due consultation with them, even after disengaging twenty one employees last March.
The Labour union also frowned at the attitude of the management for failing to negotiate with the protesting workers
The notice dated Monday June the 19 2017 stated that the company had shut down all its activities, it urged willing employees who wish to continue working with the company to reapply.
But, employees say they will continue to occupy the premises until their demand are met
