Local government elections are on-going in Benue state but the process is being marred by late arrival of electoral materials.
Voters say they are being frustrated from exercising their civic duties. At Adikpo, Kwande and other local governments, they were found loitering around polling units while waiting for electoral officers and voting materials from the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission as at 2pm on Saturday.
In other places electoral officers were already seated but had not commenced accreditation. Only members of the Benue vigilante group were seen around the polling units providing security.
This is in contrast from previous elections when the police and other security outfits were in charge.
