Following poor results recorded by the Super Eagles at the Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo, the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF may have decided against the future use of the ground as Eagles home ground.
With the last Saturday’s 2-0 defeat loss to South Africa, the NFF is now considering Port Harcourt for August the 27th World Cup qualifier against Cameroon.
Super Eagles have won just two games at the Stadium.
The reason given for moving the against Cameroon from the stadium is purely on logistics.
Transportation to the stadium factored as the major reason, as it takes 45 minutes to drive from the team hotel to the stadium.
The choice of Port Harcourt is yet to be fully agreed as renovation work at the ground is yet to be completed, so Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna and the National Stadium in Abuja have been placed on standby.
