The Nigerian Air Force has received support for its humanitarian efforts to IDPs in the northeast.
The food items which are to be distributed in the Dalori and Bama IDP camps in Borno State are expected to shore up the efforts of the Air Force towards winning the hearts and minds of the people.
The Nigerian Air Force continues to battle insurgency in the northeast through its air surveillance and bombardment of identified targets, particularly in the Sambisa.
The air missions are part of a larger military crackdown on terrorism in the country.
But just like the Federal Government, the Air Force authorities understand that a military crackdown alone would not end the insurgency which is now characterised by suicide bombings.
That’s why it is providing humanitarian services to IDPs in Camps such as Dalori and Bama, in Borno State.
This effort received a boost with the food items donated by a private firm.
The humanitarian effort is aimed at providing aid in exchange for information.
The donors see the effort of the Nigerian Air force as an opportunity to alleviate the sufferings of the IDPs.
The Air Force is optimistic that the soft approach will enable it elicit the information its requires for its missions in the northeast.
