Nigeria Pro-Football League side, Sunshine Stars have confirmed the resignation of Austin Eguavoen as their head coach.
There had been speculations that the former Nigerian international had resigned in the aftermath of Sunshine’s home defeat to Plateau United on Wednesday.
But the club denied the reports.
A statement on the club’s website on Friday has now confirmed Eguavoen’s exit.
Eguavoen was appointed coach only in April. The former Super Eagles captain was in charge of Sunshine Stars in just five league games where he led them to two wins and suffered two defeats.
