Report by Global Witness says that the mining sector in Uganda is thoroughly enmeshed in corruption.
The researchers based in London revealed that bribery is a key method by which mining activities are carried out in the country.
The report, released on Monday, mentioned Uganda’s Directorate of Geological Survey and Mines as a centre of corrupt practices.
According to the report, businessmen and government officials collaborate in mining gold for export without regards to due process.
