The Governor of Borno state and chairman of the All progressives congress governorship primaries committee in Anambra state, Kashim Shettima has maintained that the Arewa youths do not the mandate of northerners to give quit ultimatum to the Igbos in the north.
Shettima made this known while speaking with the 12 aspirants contesting for APC ticket ahead of the Nov 18 governorship election.
Senior Political Correspondent, Ayodele Ozugbakun reports that aspirants, 12 in number, will contest the governorship primaries scheduled to hold on Saturday.
The State’s Commissioner of Police, Umar Garba read the riot act to the aspirants and assured that he has enough men to forestall a break down of law and order.
The chairman of the primaries, governor Kassim Shettima described the exercise as a family party and urged members and aspirants to be loyal to the party whatever the outcome. He promised a level playing field for the 12 aspirants.
Accreditation of delegates will hold at the Alex Ekwueme square, while the primaries will be held at the Dora Akunyuli Women Development Centre.
More than five thousand candidates drawn from 21 local governments in Anambra state will choose the party’s candidate .
