The price of cooking gas per kilogram has dropped from N400 in May to N280 per Kg recently following an improved supply and distribution of the commodity.
Barachel Ukuta reports that in the first quarter of this year, the price of cooking gas remained at N400 per kilogram in many parts of the country.
Now, there has been adjustment in prices. A survey shows the price of 12.5 kg sold for N4,500 in May has dropped to N3,000. Other sizes have shown significant price drops.
Executive secretary of Nigeria Association of LPG marketers, Bassey Essien, confirms availability of stocks in the market.
Essien points to supply effects on gas. He adds that weather also affects the price of the product.
Major retailers of the product sell cooking gas at prices ranging from N280 per kg to N300 .
Improved supply and distribution of cooking gas have caused a drop in price by 30 percent.
