International trade : U.S. launches inquiry into China’s policies
The US has launched formal inquiry into China’s policies in relation to intellectual property.
The administration of President Donald Trump has constantly accused China of theft of trade secrets, pirating computer soft ware and generally counterfeiting goods.
The US estimates it losses in unfair trade deals with China to be in the region of $600 billion dollars.
Us Trade official, Robert Lighthizer, said his office was convinced that these trade issues merited thorough investigations.
