Osun State government has facilitated the return of 85 medical students of the Osun State University who were sent to Ukraine to complete their studies due to the non-availability of Uniosun Teaching Hospital to complete their clinical studies.
Correspondent Ibrahim Alege reports that 25 year-old Latifah Oyeleye from Oyo state, graduated with an outstanding cumulative point of 95.6% to emerge as the overall best in the whole of Ukraine in 2017.
The former UNIOSUN students were sent to Ukraine by Governor Rauf Aregbesola to complete their medical studies at Karazin Kharkiv National University, in 2013 as a result of the non-availability of UNIOSUN Teaching hospital for their clinical studies.
Officials of the state government and some of their parents were on hand to receive them at the airport.
An obviously elated governor Rauf Aregbesola welcomed the Osun ambassadors to the state house, Osogbo. He said the decision to send them to Ukraine was tough but he can now laugh and on the flip side, the students did not only come home fulfilled as medical graduates, one of them returned with two kids.
