Adamawa State Working Committee (SWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has distanced itself from 2019 presidential ambition of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as hinted at recently by the minister of Women Affairs, Aisha Jummai Alhassan.
APC Vice Chairman Northern Zone Muhammed Abdullahi and the organising Secretary, Ahmed Lawal jointly condemned the call by the minister of Women Affairs, Jummai Alhassan urging Atiku to contest in 2019.
They described as unfortunate that a serving Minister could heat up the polity in such flagrant manner especially when the APC government was working hard to deliver campaign promises.
Indeed, some APC stakeholders in the state called for the immediate removal of the minister.
According to them, the minister may end up a cog in the wheel of progress since she has indicated where her loyalty lies.
On their part, members of the Atiku support group hold divergent views on the issue.
Speaking to reporters, the Director General of the group, Hon. Mark Wosi argued that President Buhari knew where her loyalty lies before appointing her.
exactly my point, president Muhammadu Buhari knew about her loyalty, so he should be the one to handle the matter.
