Lawmakers in the Adamawa State House of Assembly have removed Deputy Speaker, Sunday Peter and other principal officers.
The Deputy Speaker was replaced by member representing Madagali, Emmanuel Tsamdu who recently defected to APC from PDP, while the Majority Leader, Musa Mahmud was replaced by Hassan Burguma.
Two-third majority of the legislators removed the key officers.
The motion for the removal of the Deputy Speaker was moved by Abubakar Hayatu (APC-Uba/Gaya) and seconded by Abubakar Abdurrahman (Mubi South).
Also removed at the Monday plenary presided by the Speaker, Alhaji Kabiru Mijinyawa were the Deputy Majority Leader, Mutawali Mohammed replaced by Abubakar Isa while the Minority Leader, Mrs. Justina Nkom (SDP-Lamurde) was replaced Mr. Lamsumbani Dili (PDP-Demsa).
Speaking to news men after the sitting, the lawmakers said their action was based on their zeal to move the state forward.
They denied that the executive arm of government sponsored the development.
