Alexis Sanchez says he’s ‘tired of being criticised’ after Chile suffered a 1-0 defeat to Bolivia on Tuesday evening. The
loss in La Paz has meant that Chile are in danger of missing out on a place at next year’s World Cup as they currently sit sixth in the South American qualifying table with just two games remaining.Sanchez is now due to return to Arsenal after his £60 million move to Manchester City failed on deadline day.
And in a lengthy post on Instagram, the forward admitted he’s tired of telling the world ‘that everything is going well’.
‘And tomorrow is coming,’ Sanchez wrote.
‘You get tired of being criticised with reason and without reason, you get tired of wanting to be defeated, you get tired of saying to yourself “I’ll get up again” after crying after a defeat.
‘And you get tired of telling the world and people who are with you, that everything is going well.
‘And the worst, that no one ever realises how that makes you feel … I have the No 7 of Chile on my back and it is a huge responsibility, that’s why I’m sorry that journalists and bad people criticise without knowing…’
I guess that’s what you get when people expect too much from you.
