The Federal Government has flagged off its national ‘Wellness On Wheels’ (WOW) campaign programme to control the spread of Tuberculosis and to increase detection rate of the disease in the country.
Speaking during the launching the campaign in Abeokuta, Ogun State, the Health Minister, Professor Issac Adewole said the campaign will lead to the elimination of tuberculosis in the country.
He noted that the mobile Tuberculosis diagnostic units will improve access to screening, diagnosis and treatment through the door to door approach.
The Minister said, Ogun State is the first to benefit from the initiative and urged the host governor to help in mobilising his colleagues to embrace the initiative by buying two of the WOW trucks each in their states.
