Agriculture minister Audu Ogbeh says surveillance on the country’s seed industry will be intensified.
The minister was speaking at the 27 seed fair in Abuja.
Ogbeh also says plans are being made to allow seed farmers access loans at extremely low rates.
He added that mechanisms will be employed to make seed companies sell commodity only through authorised channels.

The seeds council on its part advised farmers to only buy inputs with its certification tag to avoid adulteration.
