The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen says the new Acting Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, must discharge his judicial functions without fear or favour.
Justice Onnoghen gave the charge on Saturday in Abuja while swearing in Justice Abdu Kafarati to take up this position .
After attaining the mandatory requirement age of 65 years, the former chief judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Ibrahim Auta has stepped down.
Justice Onnoghen used the opportunity to stress the need for whoever occupies this position to be fearless and dispassionate in ensuring justice is served.
The CJN also advised the new Chief Judge to shun injustice and adhere to the rule of law in piloting the affairs of the court.
Justice Kafarati who was born in 1954 hails from Gombe state and became a federal high court judge in 1991.
