Abia South Senator, Enyinanya Abaribe has denied reports that he is being pressured by the government or his colleagues to produce fugitive leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra having stood as surety for him.
Senator Abaribe at the Senate plenary, denied newspaper reports noting that such issues never occurred during the closed-door session held by the upper chamber on Tuesday.
Abaribe who is also the Chairman of the South East Senators Forum says the reports are aimed at creating division between southeast and northern senators.
Meanwhile, Andrew Uchendu has been sworn in as a Senator representing Rivers East Senatorial District in the Senate.
Senator Uchendu from the ruling APC replaces George Sekibo of the opposition PDP who was recently sacked by the Court of Appeal.
After his swearing in, the new Senator promised to help push legislation that will develop his constituents, people of the Niger Delta and all Nigerians.
