On-loan Chelsea starlet Tammy Abraham has rejected reports he wants to switch his international allegiance to Nigeria.
Abraham has now released a statement confirming he remains committed to England.
Reports on Thursday had stated that the Swansea star has agreed to play for Nigeria despite playing for England at Under 18, Under 19 and Under 21 level.
Abraham was born in London but remains eligible to play for Nigeria due to his dad’s nationality.
The 19 year old admits meeting Amaju Pinnick, the President of the Nigerian Football Federation at the weekend.
But the meeting he says was only informal.
Abraham’s words contradict the belief of Pinnick, who had claimed he ‘had a very honest and productive discussion with Tammy and his father’.
