North Korea’s state-run television KRT on Sunday aired a video showing tens of thousands of people attending an anti-U.S. rally at Kim Il Sung square in Pyongyang.
The North’s official news agency KCNA said more than 100,000 people gathered for the rally on Saturday supporting Kim Jong UN’s statement that Pyongyang will consider the “highest level of hard-line countermeasure in history” against the United States.
The threat was in response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s own threat to destroy the North.
Trump called the North Korean leader a “madman” on Friday after Kim dubbed him a “mentally deranged U.S. dotard.”
The media war further escalated on Saturday with Trump saying on Twitter that North Korea’s Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho and leader Kim Jong Un won’t be around much longer.
