Two female suicide bombers have died after detonating IEDs on a feeder road off Maiduguri /Mafa highway, close to NDLEA checkpoint on the outskirt of Maiduguri township.
A statement signed by Police Spokesman, Borno command Isuku Victor said only the two bombers died in the explosion, while eight others including an NDLEA officer sustained injuries.
The injured were rushed to the hospital and are still responding to treatment.
The vehicle, a golf taxi laden with bags of charcoal with two female passengers and a Tricycle close to the scene were affected in the explosion.

The scene has since been rendered safe by police EOD team and normalcy restored to the area.
