The Zamfara state government has set up an eleven man committee to review performance of secondary schools student in the last WAEC and NECO examinations in the state.
The committee is also to advise government on how to improve educational standards in the state.
TVC News Ibrahim Bello reports that the performance of the Zamfara state students in last NECO and WAEC examinations was rated low inspite of the huge amount of money injected into the sector by the Zamfara state government in recent times.
And this prompted the Zamfara state Governor Abdulaziz Yari to summon a meeting of all principals of post primary schools to find possible solutions to examination failures and how to ensure academic excellence in the state.
The eleven member committee has Zamfara Secretary to the state government Professor Abdullahi Muhammad Walin Shinkafi as chairman.
On their part , the principals of post primary schools in the state under the aegis of ANCOPS pledged to ensure improvement in academic results in school, while appreciating the state government fro the provision of infrastructures in primary and secondary schools.
