Former Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Doyin Okupe has said elites across all works of life have failed Nigeria as a nation.
Okupe was speaking in Osogbo on the sideline of the calls for restructuring as being taunted by Nigerians as the solution to the socio-politcal and economic development of the country.
He said the clamour for restructuring is not about criticism about marginalisation or agitation for secession from some sections of the country but a return to true federalism.
The medical doctor turned politician maintained that unity of any nation in the world is by negotiation even though it is best for Nigeria to remain an entity with unity in diversity.
He advocate a unity of purpose and direction which are lacking among Nigerians a solution to the country’s challenges.
