Ogun State government has debunked the report credited to Nigeria Center for Disease Control listing the state as one of the states affected by Monkey Pox.
The Commissioner for Health in Ogun State, Babatunde Ipaye made this known while briefing journalists about measures put in place to prevent the spread of the disease into the state.
He noted that no incident of monkey pox has been recorded in the state and the government is working tirelessly in ensuring that people of the state are in good heath condition.
He confirmed that an overzealous officer reported a similar case of a patient with similar symptoms with monkey pox without doing proper investigation and it has been confirmed that their is no case of the Pox in the state.
