The Senate is to investigate allegations raised by Minister of State for Petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu against NNPC Group Managing Director, Maikanti Baru over allegations of insubordination.
Senator Kabiru Marafa moved a motion on the issue and the prayer was amended by Senator Samuel Anyanwu during plenary on Wednesday..
Aliyu Wamakko heads the nine-day ad-hoc committee. No time frame was given to the committee by Senate President Bukola Saraki.
In a letter leaked to the public, Kachikwu accused Baru of “completely eroding” some of the reforms he introduced as head of the NNPC.

The Minister stated that the oil firm announced a massive shakeup affecting 55 staff and to his surprise, the NNPC Board which he chairs, had no input.
