The Senate has deferred debate on the general principles of the 2018 budget by one week.

Senate President Bukola Saraki announced this at Tuesday’s plenary where he explained that the decision is as a result of the need to pass the Medium Term Expenditure Framework, MTEF this week before focusing on the budget.

The debate is now to hold on November 28th and 29th while debate on the revenue parameters of agencies of the Federal Government is scheduled for Thursday 30th.

Also, Saraki read an executive communication from President Muhammadu Buhari withholding assent to two bills; Chartered Institute of Treasury Management bill and Federal University of Wukari bill due to some basic details in the legislative drafting.
