The Association of Herdsmen in Nigeria has urged the federal government and lawmakers to prevail on the Benue State government to reverse its anti-grazing law.
The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria also wants the international community to intervene.
The chairman of the association, Danladi Ciroma says the law was implemented without consultation with the herdsmen.
Ciroma claims his people need more time and education to understand how to operate modern ranches.
Last week, Benue State banned open grazing, due to regular clashes between herdsmen and landowners.
