The Federal Executive Council meeting meeting started with a one-minute silence in honour of former Vice President, Alex Ekwueme, who died on Sunday.
And when the cabinet got down to business, it approved the takeover of the management of Azure-Gira irrigation project by the ministries of Water Resources and the Federal Capital territory
Council also approved the sum of 987 million naira for the purchase of fifty patrol vehicles for the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, to improve surveillance on illegal mining.
Mines minister Kayode Fayemi disclosed when he briefed journalists at the end of the meeting.
