TVC News Sports Editor, Promise Efoghe has won the Best TV Journalist Award 2017 organised by the Nigerian Sports Awards.
The awards took place in Lagos with several personalities who have distinguished themselves in the course of the year receiving various accolades at the event.
The eloquent Sports presenter, writer and producer defeated all other nominees to win the prestigious award.
Other winners at the event include: Azeezat Oshoala who emerged best footballer of the year (female category), Super Eagles and Chelsea striker, Victor Moses, best player (male category), Veteran table tennis player, Aruna Quadri, amongst others.
Organisers of the Award had earlier in October this year announced shortlist of nominees for the sixth anniversary edition of the prestigious sports awards ceremony. At a press briefing held in Lagos, The Chairman of the newly constituted panel, Kweku Tandoh however announced nominees for five different categories that include Ball sports Personality of the year, Sportsman of the Year, Sportswoman of the Year, Sports Governor of the Year, Team of the Year.
The trio of Victor Moses, Anthony Okpotu and Stephen Odeh slugged it out for the Male footballer of the Year before the Chelsea striker eventually emerged victorious.
To vote, members of the public were asked to log on to the award website, www.nigeriansportsaward.com or vote on the award twitter handle, @ngrsportsaward. Voting was open to the public, and spanned between October 5 and to November 12, 2017.
The Nigerian Sports Award is an annual event designed by its organisers to appreciate and reward sports men and women who have demonstrated strong passion and excelled in their chosen career.
