Bayelsa State government has directed Contractors handling the Sagbama/Ekeremor road to speed up work to ensure it gets to stone-base level for holiday makers to travel this yuletide. The state’s Works and Infrastructure Commissioner, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo disclosed this in interview with TVC’s Ovieteme George.
The Bayelsa Ecumenical Centre at Igbogene was the first port of call for the inspection team of the state Ministry of Works And Infrastructure. Commissioner Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo and his men had earlier stopped over to inspect work at the Onopa Tourist Island Bridge before hitting the dusty path of the Sagbama Ekeremor Road on the way to Aleibiri.
The Commissioner said the level of work at the University Of Africa is encouraging, but the pace of work on the Senate Building road is slow.
Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo has threatened to sanction any erring contractor who falls behind the expected completion date of a project.
