The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has warned oil marketers to stop hoarding petrol or risk arrest.
NNPC spokesman, Ndu Ughamadu, said in a statement in Abuja that the warning followed the uncovering of 144 oil tankers filled with petroleum products in Kano.
He said government has intervened in a strike by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria against NECONDE Energy Services Ltd.
Ughamadu urged motorists and other consumers of petrol to resist panic buying.
