Victims of the Christmas Day fire that gutted some shops in Akure, the Ondo State Capital have continued to count their losses.
This is coming just as the State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu visited the scene of the fire disaster to ascertain the extent of damage.
The fire, which started at about 2 pm on Christmas day, ripped through one of the shops before it extended to other stores.
Although no casualties were recorded, many properties were destroyed and damaged by the inferno.
About six shops that were stocked with books and other educational materials were burnt to ashes.
Also, a plastic depot close to the scene of the incident was badly affected.
The owners of the shops are counting their loses they want the state government to come to their aid.
