Rivers United players have apologised to Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, following their protest on Tuesday to demand for the payment of their sign-on fees for the 2014/2015 season.
Captain of the team, Austin Festus says that they have apologised to the governor for their action after he promised to ensure the payment of the sign-on fees.
Reports revealed that Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, approved the payment of the sign-on fee six months ago but the players are concerned with the delay in the payment of the money.
Rivers United finished 15th in the Nigeria Professional Football League last season.
