Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha says the shortest route to an Igbo presidency is through a vote for President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.
Mustapha spoke on Saturday in Abuja at a dinner organised for a Permanent Secretary in the Cabinet office, Georgina Ehuriah, which was hosted by former Governor of Abia state, Orji Uzor Kalu at his residence.
The SGF thanked Igbo leaders for their support for Buhari’s government while asking them to perfect the art of negotiation with other sections of Nigeria before 2019
This he said would facilitate the presidency being given to them faster than expected when Buhari’s constitutional tenure is over.
Former Abia Governor, Orji Kalu used the occasion to thank President Buhari for appointing the permanent secretary who is from his state and local government.
He pledged that whenever Buhari declares his intention to contest the 2019 presidency, Igbo leaders will support him and work hard to ensure that he gets at least seventy five percent votes from the southeast.
The permanent secretary was announced at the dinner as the first female to be appointed permanent secretary into the Cabinet Affairs Office by the Federal Government.
The office is in charge of processing memoranda, notes, conclusions and discussions of all Statutory Councils and Committees of the Federal Executive Council, FEC.
