Pastor and one-time vice presidential candidate, Tunde Bakare has criticised the federal government’s handling of fulani herdsmen’s bloodletting in Benue State and other parts of the country.
Reacting to the recent deaths of many locals in Benue State, Bakare wondered why government didn’t act in the face of prior information.
He also shared the view of many who question why a military operation was carried out in the southeast ostensibly against IPOB, but none in Benue and neighbouring states.
Addressing the press shortly after the Sunday Service, the Save Nigeria Group convener wondered why a government that deployed full military apparatus against the IPOB leader, who did not kill a soul, could find it impossible to deal decisively with herdsmen that have killed scores of innocent Nigerians across the country.
Bakare described government’s attitude as promoting injustice, capable of causing reprisal attacks and throw the country into unmanageable crisis. He said such act, in a saner clime, is capable of bringing down a government.

The funniest thing ever is the information Minister who is warning Nigerian citizens to stop posting comments and inciting pictures in the the Social media concerning the coverage of the pogroms in Benue State! Tell me, which one assaults our collective sensibilities and psyches more – the comments and pictures or the gory slaughter fields of children, men and women left by the mindless intoxicated Fulani butchers? Someone needed to be properly charged to International Criminal Court at the Hague for this horrendous crime.
It is crystal clear that the govt of APC President Buhari is biased along ethnic, religion & social lines as well as it orchestrated fight against corruption.
Many instances within the last quarter has clearly proven this assertion; from the handling of IPOB agitators to the declarations of the Northern youth forum, from the killings in Kaduna, Plateau, Benue, and other states of the federation, comments made by christian religious leader & EFCC arrest, various corruption cases involving persons from the East (Innoson Motors), South (Tompolo/Mrs Patience Jonathan), West & North (Miana/Baru) etc. This govt is indeed biased & enthrensed in internal corruption/compromise.
