President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Ahmed Abubakar as the substantive Director General of the National Intelligence Agency.
His appointment was contained in a statement by the Special Adviser on Media to the President, Femi Adesina.
The new Director General is a retired career Foreign Service officer, who until his appointment served as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations.
His appointment takes effect immediately.
