A heavy police presence was seen outside Catalonia’s parliament building ahead of a planned session to swear-in candidate Carles Puigdemont which later was postponed by parliament speaker Roger Torrent.
Torrent insisted that former leader Carles Puigdemont, in self-exile at Brussels, was the only viable candidate to lead Catalonia and said the session will be postponed until they have “legal guarantees” to celebrate another one.
