Ford Motor Company plans to offer a diesel engine version of its best-selling F-150 pickup truck.
This was made known by the vice president of Ford motors at a briefing ahead of the official launch.
The diesel F-150 will cost between $2,400 and $4,000 more than a comparable gasoline truck. The engine will be manufactured at a Ford plant in Britain.
The vice president, Ford Motors,David Filipe say the diesel model will comply with U.S. emissions rules.
The company aims to gain a marketing edge as its rivals ramp up efficient pickups of their own.
