The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has called for regional and multilateral cooperation to
combat drug trafficking in the country, especially with the emergence of new psychoactive substances, both synthetic and plant, adopted by illegal traffickers.
Col. Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah (rtd), the Chairman of NDLEA, in a statement by Mr. Jonah Achema, Principal Staff Officer, Public Affairs, said that the anti-narcotic agency was prepared to tackle drug trafficking headlong in the year.
Achema also hinted that in a bid to effectively address the challenges, Abdallah was selected to chair the first annual Africa Targeting Working Group meeting of International Drug Enforcement Conference (IDEC), which took place in South Africa between January 23 to 24, 2018.
